Many Jersey Renews members joined this sign-on letter urging Governor Murphy's administration to take swift and transparent action on federal infrastructure funds and demanding a commitment to rapid climate pollution reductions and equitable investments.
“To determine if New Jersey has achieved transit equity, one must ask a simple question of riders: Do you have the same mobility freedom as someone with access to a car?” said Janna Chernetz, New Jersey policy director for the Tri-State Transportation Campaign.
Several bus riders told stories about difficulties using the current bus system, in support of a proposed NJ Transit bus riders’ Bill of Rights legislation sponsored by Assemblyman Daniel Benson, and State Senator Joseph Vitale, both D-Middlesex.
